The China Coal Economics Research Institute was established in 2017 by China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) and the Beijing Green Energy Coal Economics Research Foundation jointly. Since the establishment of the coal economics institute, both parties have worked together in accordance with the mission of "serving the motherland with knowledge, supporting the coal industry, pioneering innovation, and promoting scientific development." The institute is dedicated to developing the discipline of coal industry economics, training talents needed for the economic development of the coal industry, conducting theoretical, policy, and institutional innovation research in the field of coal industry economics, and advancing the construction of high-end think tanks in this area. The research team primarily consists of researchers from the School of Management, supplemented by relevant experts and staff as needed. The Beijing Green Energy Coal Economics Research Foundation supports the publication of the "Coal Blue Book" and the "Coal Industry Prosperity Report," as well as organizing the 30-person forum on coal economics, among other activities.
