Management Science and Engineering is a discipline that integrates systems science, management science, mathematics, economics, behavioral sciences, and engineering methods with information technology to address management issues in various fields such as society, economy, and engineering. Our university established its Management Science and Engineering discipline in 1953. In 1986, it was among the first to be granted the authorization to confer doctoral degrees, and in 1998, it was approved to establish a postdoctoral research station.

The discipline focuses on national issues related to energy, resources, the environment, and regional and industrial development strategies, engaging in scientific research, talent cultivation, and social services. It has developed distinctive strengths and achieved significant outcomes in areas such as energy system optimization and management, coordinated development of resources and the environment, and coal mine safety management.

1202 Science of Business Administration

Science of Business Administration focuses on studying the principles and techniques of managing microeconomic organizations within society. It is dedicated to serving the strategic needs of the nation and the development needs of enterprises. With microeconomic organizations (including various industries and types of enterprises and institutions) as its research subjects, this discipline integrates knowledge from economics, management, mathematics, systems science, and computer science to address both theoretical and practical management issues. The master's program in Science of Business Administration includes three second-level disciplines:

  • 120201 Accounting

  • 120202 Corporate Management

  • 120204 Technology Economy and Management

This discipline aims to cultivate high-quality business administration professionals with strong innovation capabilities. Through a combination of teaching, practice, and research, students are trained to independently engage in scientific research and management practices. They become well-versed in the latest developments and practices in the field of business administration, equipped with advanced management concepts and methods, and a solid theoretical foundation in management science. Additionally, they gain proficiency in using quantitative analysis, empirical research, case studies, and other methods to analyze and solve problems.
